Disposable Heroes Demo
Disposable Heroes is a great WWII Squad level wargame rule set. Rob Scott has been running a number of demo games at the store in 28mm scale. Here are some photos of one of these events.
Disposable Heroes uses 10 sided dice. You can see a bunch of them here in the Allied players starting area.
28mm is close in scale to 1/48 scale, at least for the armor. Here we have a variety of 1/50 scale Corgi diecast tanks, which also work very well.
German forces hiding behind the buildings. This Tiger will be a nasty surprise!
And another Tiger works its way forward.
This line of trenchworks is produced by Pegasus models. They're also the ones who make the sandbag sections and barbed wire sections in the previous pictures.
Here's a closeup of the Russian infantry moving through the woods.
And in the woods on the other side are the British Paratroops and a Cromwell.
This Churchill has been knocked out, but the Paras move on.
At the end of the game, the T-34 has managed to loop around behind the Tiger to find the vulnerable rear of the tank. The colored markers help keep track of which units have been activated, what targets have been acquired, and other game mechanics.
