These are photos from the USS Alabama Model Contest held in Mobile, AL in April of 2008.
The Mobile Area modelers hold their annual model contest at Battlehip park in Mobile, AL.
The park is the home of the battleship USS Alabama .
This is a WWII era battleship that is now permanently moored just outside of Mobile, AL.
The ship is now open to guided and self guided tours.
The ship is in the water, but on permanent moorings.
