Canvas Eagles Demo, November 2009
Allan Robinson put on a demo of Canvas Eagles at the shop in November of 2009. Canvas Eagles is
a WWI Air Combat game played with miniatures. We are using 1/144 scale miniatures, notably the prebuilt,
prepainted planes available from the Wings of War game. Allan has run a number of demos, and starting in January
of 2010 has launched a campaign at the store. Now you can start out with a novice pilot, and develop him all the way
to Ace! (If he survives, that is!) These photos are from the November demo. If you're interested, check the

Allan is the one in the red shirt on the left. This gives a good overview of the table. The game is played on a
hex mat, and each player has a clipboard with the stats and available moves for their aircraft.
Each player marks their move for the next round in secret.
When all moves are plotted, the planes on the board are moved.
Trying to outsmart your opponent and decide what they are going to do next takes some serious thought.
Each side concentrates on what their best move might be.
And sometimes you have the satisfaction of guessing right!
