Blue Angels Homecoming Airshow 2003 - NAS Pensacola

Pensacola is blessed to be the home of the world famous Blue Angels, the US Navy's flight demonstration team. While most airshows around the world would be happy to have the Blue Angels make an appearance each year, or even every few years, we're pretty spoiled here in Pensacola. Not only do we get to see the Blues twice a year in airshows (Pensacola Beach in the summer, and the homecoming show each November), we even get to see their practices almost every week!.

The homecoming airshow is always a blast, as NAS Pensacola puts on a good show. This year's event was no exception. With the National Museum of Naval Aviation at the end of the runway, there are always some great static displays in addition to the flying performances. As an example, this year Navy-One, the S-3 Viking now famous for landing President Bush, was on display. We also get good representation from other branches and the training commands. One highlight this year were a pair of Luftwaffe Tornados flown in from Holloman AFB. Pensacola not only trains flight students for our navy, but for many other governments including Germany and Kuwait. All this makes for a pretty darn good airshow!.
