Jim Klein's Pirates Terrain
Jim Klein is one of our local modellers & gamers. He and his family have
been playing in our Wizkids Games Pirates tournaments for some time now. Jim, being a talented
guy, decided that what we needed for the games was 3 dimensional terrain. So he got out the
Hot Wire tools and went to work! And here you can see the results. The base of the islands
is styrofoam, shaped with Hot Wire tools. A little paint, some Woodland Scenics scenery
products, and voila! Great looking islands! I particularly like the volcano. The flame at the
top is from Gale Force 9.
Jim is the one in the Black Pirate shirt on the left. This gives a good overview of the table.
Here is the volcano with the Gale Force 9 Flame marker.
The center island actually has a tunnel through the middle.
Even the fog banks have been given the 3D treatment.
Other neat details include the small scale buildings, and the Pirate ship stranded on a reef.
The terrain really adds a lot to our Pirates battles!
